What clients and audiences are saying...

Marketing Advice and Coaching
"We recently asked Steve to coach us on marketing our business better online. In just six weeks, his advice helped us more than double the amount of qualified leads we were generating with our website. In addition, the follow-up emails and scripts he helped us write brought in two new big clients. Steve’s coaching is easily the best investment in our marketing we’ve ever made."

Brent Haskett,
President,
North Shore Consulting

Award-winning Copywriting
"I used Steve’s copy coaching program to revitalize the website sales page for one of my audio products and write a series of emails to my subscribers. Using his easy-to-follow methods, templates, coaching and feedback, I was able to create marketing copy that more than tripled sales."

Michael Hughes,
Principal,
The Networking Guru

Keynotes, Seminars and Workshops
"Steve’s seminar at the CAPS national conference was terrific. It was standing room only! He outlined the principles of persuasive copywriting in a way I’ve never seen before – not because it’s radically new, but rather because it's radically simple and easy to follow. I have been a professional copywriter for over twenty-five years, and Steve is one of the very few people whose advice and feedback I trust."

The Essential Message

Meet Steve Slaunwhite
Marketing expert, award-winning copywriter, bestselling author (well, nearly), and a fairly decent racquetball player

I came to appreciate the selling power of good marketing at an early age. While still in my teens, I wrote a sales letter for my dad’s furniture restoration business that doubled his client base in just two days. (And got me a raise in my allowance!)

Since that time I’ve helps thousands of businesses get more leads, clients and profits with the marketing they do.

I’ve written and consulted for some big companies over the years. Like UPS, Hewlett-Packard, Sprint and Forbes. But these days I work exclusively with ambitious small business owners who care as much about building a fulfilling business as they do about the profits they earn.

Make no mistake. My clients and audiences want to make money! But a thriving business that also supports their contribution and lifestyle goals is important to them, too.

And effective marketing – especially great copywriting – is what makes that happen.

How I help

I work with ambitious business owners in a variety of ways.

I write books. My most recent titles are The Everything Guide to Writing Copy, 101 Writing Tips for Successful Email Marketing, Start & Run a Copywriting Business, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Starting a Web-Based Business, and The Wealthy Freelancer.

In addition, more than 20 books by other authors feature my marketing and copywriting expertise. For example, I contributed a chapter to Maria Veloso’s excellent book, Web Copy That Sells.

I wrote the original version of The CMA Guide to Email Marketing, which is today a must-read in the industry and included in the curriculum of several university programs. (So if you need help with email marketing, I’m the go-to guy!)

I have also developed several popular home study courses including Secrets Of Strategic Copywriting, Fast Track To Great Clients, and Copywriting For Entrepreneurs.

What can I say? I’m a fast typist!

I also speak. I lead more than fifty keynotes, workshops, presentations, webinars, teleclasses, you name it, each year. I love to teach. Because my speaking programs are so interactive, I get to see my audiences make real progress on their marketing and copywriting right away. And that’s very satisfying.

Organizations that have asked me to speak include:

And dozens of others.

And, of course, I coach and consult. I work one-on-one with select clients, helping them make serious breakthroughs in their marketing so they attract more business more easily.

Here’s what Pam Foster said after just one coaching session with me:

I recently had the opportunity to talk with Steve about a marketing barrier I was facing. After just 20 minutes of conversation, he came up with two solid, fantastic ideas for me. Both of those ideas suit my business and marketing style perfectly. In just minutes, he helped me see how I can take a fresh and fun new angle on my marketing efforts.

A bit about my background

I’m a film school dropout, switching to the business program during my first year at York University. (I’m still a serious film fanatic.)

After getting my business degree, I began a career in sales and soon discovered I had a knack for writing teleselling scripts and sales letters that worked a heck of a lot better than cold calling! It wasn’t long before I was the top performer in the company.

The only problem was, I didn’t like being an “employee”.

So, slowly but surely, I made the transition to self-employment. First as a freelance copywriter. Then as a copywriter/consultant. And now as a marketing coach, author and speaker.

I won several marketing and copywriting awards along the way. (Although I never entered a single contest!) The Promo! Marketing Association gave me their gold award for best direct mail campaign. And the Circulation Marketing Association handed me their “ACE” award for best copywriting.

But the award I treasure most is the “Best Dad” award slipped under my office door by my then 8-year old daughter. Marketing awards just can’t compete with that!

About you

Well, now that you know a little about me, tell me about you!

Is your small business marketing working like a well-oiled machine, consistently bringing in all the business you need? Or is it costing you too much time and money, and not getting enough results.

Chances are, the marketing you’re already doing right now can be generating a lot more leads, clients and profits for you.

I can show you how. Let’s talk!
