No one buys because a website looks good, or an email contains a sweet offer. People buy because they’re motivated by the message: the marketing copy.
In a way, your marketing copy is your brand, your ambassador, your best sales person. Often, the words on your website, email, or sales page is the first “voice” a customer hears when checking out your products and services.
It’s no wonder that improving your content can have such a dramatic impact on leads and sales.
I help businesses do just that, through my copywriting and copy coaching services, my in-house training programs, and my popular online courses.
My first client was my dad! At age sixteen, I wrote a sales letter for his furniture restoration business that mailed to antique dealers in the region. A few weeks later, he had two new clients! (And I had a raise in my allowance!)
Since that time, I have:
- Helped more than 150 businesses improve their sales copy, and boost their marketing results.
- Won several major copywriting awards, including the AWAI 2016 Copywriter Of The Year.
- Authored several books on the topic, including “The Everything Guide to Writing Copy” (Simon & Schuster).
- Lead hundreds of workshops and created many popular copywriting courses.
I guess you could say I’m a copywriting geek!
But what I’m most proud of is the results I help my clients achieve. I get to work with some amazing business owners, entrepreneurs and marketers, and see their businesses grow. That’s pretty cool!

I look at teaching as an extension of my copywriting. It’s all about helping my clients and audiences write better copy that gets better results.
Over the years, I’ve been invited to speak for hundreds of terrific events: CAPS National Conference, PWAC National Conference, AWAI Copywriting Bootcamp, Scheduling Institute Dental Marketing Conference, DMA Direct Mail Day, just to name a few.
I’m also known as the go-to copywriting trainer for companies and associations. I’ve lead workshops and “copy coaching” days for such industry leaders as ACAMS, Scheduling Institute, UPS, Mindset Catalysts, and dozens of others.
A good book is a precious thing. And I enjoy writing them. My most recent titles are:
